Crazy June

Wow these last few weeks have been pretty busy. It hasn't felt quite like summer yet because we've been to dang busy to enjoy it! OK that's not totally true, we've actually had a great time (and a little stress) with all of our activities. A few weeks ago was the Strawberry Days for Pleasant Grove. We kicked the week off at the rodeo where Brigham rode a sheep in the Muttin Bustin competition. He did so good and we are so proud of him! He was very brave and excited about the whole thing. He kept telling me "Mom, I'm a cowboy!" It was fun to see him in first "event". We also went to the Huck Finn Day and the parade. The kids loved it and always enjoy anything we do with the cousins. I am so grateful to have such wonderful family around!

The week after Strawberry days was the Lehi Roundup week. The day finally came for us to showcase our float that we've been working on for the last few months. We were afraid that when we got there that our float (which we thought was pretty awesome) would seem not as awesome compared to all the others. Well, we were right! There were some incredible floats there but we are still proud of ours since it was made with love! Some of Brighams friends rode on the float with him and they were adorable! In the end we were actually enjoyed our calling as "float masters" and are looking forward to having the 1st place float next year! After the parade Friday night we took our young single adults to the rodeo and had a blast. On Saturday we had another parade followed by a family reunion and then a wedding reception. It was quite the eventful weekend but definatly worth it!

The next week was the fourth of July and we went camping with Jeremy's family. Yes that's right I said camping. This was our first camping adventure and I've got to say that we all had a great time (except for sleeping in a tent, that I could do without). We got to do some rock climbing and hiking and we also rode some four wheelers. The kids were in heaven and I was just glad that we weren't at home making a mess!

Last week we celebrated Brighams third birthday! I can't believe my little guy is three already! He is such a sweetheart and I love him more and more everyday. Right now Brigham loves swimming, climbing, jumping, playing with friends and he is obsessed with pirates. We had a pirate party for the family that was a lot of fun. We had a pinnata, pirate tattoos, candy, cake and gifts. What more could you ask for? I am so thankful to our wonderful family, I love you guys so much! The next day Brigham had a party with his friends. We got out the slip n slide and turned the kids loose! Brigham just adores his friends and I just adore their moms! We have so much fun together.
So here are some pictures from our recent events.

Wahoo! Parade Float

OK so here's the update on our parade float. We have been working really hard to get all the paper machete done. Jeremy's family came over last week and helped out so much, thanks guys (sorry I forgot to take pictures!) The Young Single Adults came over on Tuesday and they painted the volcano. They did such a nice job and it was fun to spend time with them. On Thursday the Young Women came over and they did an incredible job decorating the float. Thanks everybody for all your help you're really making our job easy! All that is left to do is the flooring and skirting, dinosaur eyes, mouth, spikes down his back, finish the banners and attach the tree and bushes. Piece of cake right?! Although the float is a little time consuming we have had a great time doing something together as a family that we wouldn't normally do.

Our Young Single Adults. We had a great time with them and some yummy pizza.

Taddaa! The volcano looks awesome!

The Young Women did an amazing job! Thanks so much for all your help, you girls rock!

Wahoo! Almost done!

Happy Birthday Honey!

Yesterday was Jeremy's birthday so I'd like to give a shout out to my wonderful husband! Jeremy is the most amazing dad and I love him so much. He is my best friend and I can't imagine life without him.
We tried to make the day as special as we could but let's face it when you get old, birthdays just aren't quite the same! I made him his favorite blueberry muffins in the morning. While Jeremy was at work the kids and I made him a cake and decorated the house. We decided to eat the cake for lunch cause why not have cake for lunch, yum! We all went out as a family for dinner and then the two of us went to watch "Star Trek" which was actually pretty good. Hope you had a good day sweetie, I love you!

Happy Birthday Dad!
