E.R. visit

We had our first E.R. visit on Friday. I will have to say that I never saw this one coming... Anyone ever heard of this?

Apparently she had a hair wrapped around her toe. Yep that's right, a single hair caused this much damage. How does that even happen? After two different pediatricians attempted to remove it, they sent us over to e.r. We had to hold her down while the doctor gave it his best shot. After what seemed like an eternity, the hair was removed and all was well again.

Yummy Snowflakes

Ok so it's sort of a tradition for us to make these yummy snowflakes every year. The kids love to make them and they devour them at an unhealthy speed! If you haven't made these before, give it a try, it's easy!

DANCE

Mckell had her first dance "recital" last week. It was a very casual performance for the parents where they showed us a few of the things they have been working on. It was so much fun to watch her and she loved that she got to perform. Aunt Courtney was so nice to make this incredible head wrap for her to wear. She loved it!! I can't wait until their year end concert!

Baby you make me smile!

Her smile melts my heart!

3

I can't believe my Mckellyboo turned 3! She had a wonderful birthday week filled with tons of friends, family and fun. I love Mckell so much, she brings plenty of sugar and spice into our lives! Mckell is a beautiful little girl that loves to dance (seriously all day she dances) she loves her friends and she loves being a big sister. Mckell is a huge help around the house and always makes us laugh. Her giggles are contagious and I love it! Right now Mckell's favorite colors are pink and purple and her favorite movie is Barbie's Princess and the Pauper. She loves to sing and have tea parties with her dolls. Mckell is looking forward to going to preschool next year and asks me almost everyday if it's next year yet. I love you Mckell! Happy Birthday Sweetie!!

Her birthday cake

This is what 3 going on 13 looks like

Always willing to take a picture!

Ready to party!

For her friend birthday party we took the girls to the salon to get their hair, nails and makeup done. Everyone had a blast!

They got to pick their own colors...Can you tell?

Thanks to all the family and friends that made Mckell's birthday so special! We love you all!!

The overdue understatement

I have been a bit busy the past two months and needless to say I have neglected my blog. The thought of updating is totally overwhelming so I'll give the quick version. In the last two months I delivered Molly almost five weeks early, Brigham started preschool, Mckell started dance, I started teaching dance again, Jeremy started a new job, I am directing my own cheer competitions, we played in a very intense croquet tournament, and of course the day to day craziness of life! It's amazing how adding one more kid to the mix can really make everything a lot busier!
I will say that I love being a mom to three. Molly fits right in with the rest of us and it feels like she's been here forever! I was a little nervous about having three since we are officially outnumbered now but surprisingly she has been my easiest adjustment.

Here is our baby story... Most of you know that we had been seeing a specialist for antibody issues. At 35 weeks Molly's numbers jumped up into the danger zone. Being that far along it is to dangerous to do a blood transfusion so they decided to deliver her. We did an amnio to see if her lungs were mature and to doctors surprise they were. We scheduled our c-section for the next morning. Everything happened so fast but I was able to remain calm =). I knew she would be ok and she was. Molly was a whopping 6lbs 9oz and 17 & 3/4 inches long. For being a preemie she was a good size. The delivery went well and I recovered great. Molly spent one day in the NICU to stabilize her blood sugar. She was able to come home with us which I am so grateful for. The first 5 or 6 weeks of her life she slept about 23 hours a day. The doctors said preemies can be sleepy but this seemed a little extreme. Slowly but surely she has started to wake up and can now stay awake for about an hour and a half! Molly loves to smile and her smiles always melt my heart. Molly's favorite time of night is after the kids go to bed. She just sits and smiles at me. I think she knows it's just the two of us and she enjoys every minute of it. Molly is ten weeks old today and weighs 9 lbs 6 oz. She is finally starting to get a little bit of fat her and I love that she is looking more like a baby and not a newborn. Molly is pretty content as long as she is fed and warm. She hates to be cold. HATES it! We got her newborn pictures done a little while ago and I will post them as soon as I get them back. The fabulous Skye Johansen took them and they are so adorable!

Although the last few months have been totally crazy I have learned a lot. I know that I absolutely love being a mom. The good, the bad and the ugly I love it all. I've learned that if I want to workout AND shower my day has to begin at five a.m. I've learned to roll with the punches. OK not totally or even close but I am slightly more easy going. I've learned a lot about patience, service and friendship. I'm exhausted, overwhelmed, and quite discouraged at times but I wouldn't change it for the world.

Oh yeah, I've also learned that the polygamists from the show "Sister Wives" live right by me!

Here are some pics of the last few months

Waiting to deliver!
